Former Furman football coach Bobby Lamb has been contacted about the vacant head coaching position at Gardner-Webb. That job opened up after the season when Steve Patton was relieved of his duties after 14 seasons. Lamb resigned a Furman’s coach last month after nine seasons there.
A source has told the South Carolina Radio Network that Gardner-Webb is also interested in Clemson secondary coach Charlie Harbison for the job. Harbison is a Gardner-Webb graduate and native of Shelby, NC.
Harbison was an assistant with the Bulldogs on two different occasions, in 1984-85 and in 1992-93. Before landing in Clemson, Harbison has coached at Alabama, LSU, and Mississippi State. This is his second stint with the Tigers having coached for Clemson from 1995-97.
