Lost in all the madness of the 108th meeting between USC and Clemson on the football field Saturday night was an exciting double-overtime win for Darrin Horn and the Gamecock basketball team at Western Kentucky. Carolina picked up an 87-85 road win against Horn’s Alma matter and the team he coached before arriving in Columbia three years ago.
At one point USC trailed by as many as 12 points before they mounted a comeback.
Ramon Galloway scored 22 to lead the Gamecocks in scoring. Freshman point guard Bruce Ellington added another 20. Lakeem Jackson had 13 points as Carolina improved to 4-1 on the season.
This week the Gamecocks will face Delaware State on Wednesday and play host to rival Clemson Sunday afternoon.
