Jerai Grant and Milton Jennings each scored 16 on the night as Clemson slid past South Carolina State 69-54. The Tigers led by six at the half but a strong second half performance by the senior Grant helped Clemson pull away in this one. He scored 14 of his 16 after half time as Clemson improved to 5-1 on the young season.
Jennings’16 points was a career high ass he added 10 rebounds for the night. Demontez Stitt chipped in 14.
For the Bulldogs (2-2), G Khalif Toombs led the way with 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting from the field. The ‘Dogs two wins this season have come over Carver Bible College and Division II Anderson as they struggle to find their way.
Next up for the Tigers is Michigan in the ACC-Big 10 Challenge. That is Tuesday night at home. SC State is looking for their third win on the season as they host Allen on Tuesday as well.
