Clemson running back Andre Ellington returned to practice Monday, but in a very limited role. Ellington spent his time jogging along the sideline to test his injured toe. Tigers coach Dabo Swinney says Ellington’s status for Saturday’s game against USC will be re-evaluated later this week. Swinney has said he is hopeful Ellington will play against the Gamecocks.
Ellington injured his toe during the October 30th game at Boston College. He hasn’t played since. He will have surgery after the season. He has spent the past three weeks rehabbing the injury with the hope he can finish the season before the operation.
Ellington leads the Tigers with 686 yards rushing this season.
***UPDATE*** Dabo Swinney said Tuesday Ellington has improved enough to be considered a gametime decision Saturday**
