The Gamecocks added a couple of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to complete the route. The 93 combined points was the third-most ever scored in a game involving USC. The Gamecocks totaled nine touchdowns in this one. Marcus Lattimore had three, Ace Sanders two, Stephen Garcia one, Patrick Dimarco one, D.J. Swearinger one, and Chaz Sutton had one as well.

- The offense finally got moving with Shaw under center with quite a bit of help from Brian Maddox and Kenny Miles. Maddox did a bulk of the work on the drive with the Gamecocks content to run the ball and drain the clock. The drive petered out at Troy 14. Spencer Lanning came on for his second field goal attempt of the half and the game. It was good from 31 and just the sixth point of the half for USC. - On the next play from scrimmage, Corey Robinson fumbled the snap and it was recovered by DT Byron Jerideau at the Trojan 15. Seth Strickland came on at quarterback and threw 15-yard touchdown pass to Ace Sanders in the front corner of the end zone. PK Jay Wooten came on for the extra point.
