Like it or not, basketball season is here. It can be rather difficult to get into hoops mode when college football season is still going strong, but there are a lot of games on the slate the rest of this month and into December.
Today we even get the treat of some matinee hoops in Charleston. At noon Coastal Carolina will face 21st ranked Georgetown. That is part of the Charleston Classic. At 2:30 Wofford will play USC Upstate in that tournament. My friends at ESPN Spartanburg tell me it’s the first time those two teams have met since 1988.
Later tonight, Presbyterian is at third ranked Kansas State and Charleston Southern is at home against Montreat.
In the ACC, 8th ranked North Carolina is at home against Hofstra, Maryland plays host to #4 Pittsburgh, N.C. State plays East Carolina, Florida State will face Florida International, Virginia is at Stanford and Boston College will take on Yale.
And in the SEC, 10th ranked Florida plays host to North Carolina A&T, Vanderbilt faces Nebraska, Arkansas will take on Grambling and LSU will play Tennessee Martin.
