Steve Spurrier took his weekly turn on the SEC conference call late Wednesday morning.
Among the higlights: The Head Ball Coach was very complimentary of Arkansas and the challenge the Razorbacks will present this weekend. The HBC talked about the similar NFL head coaching debacles he and Hogs Coach Bobby Petrino had. Spurrier was quick to point out that he lasted two years in the NFL and Petrino only lasted one.
Also, in one of the more interesting exchanges, Spurrier was again asked about who is doing the play calling these days. Spurrier reiterated that he had been calling the plays before he decided to delegate some of those duties. Then he offered this nugget:
“You know what I figured out,” I figured out the best thing to do is to not let everyone know who is calling the plays. Maybe we can screw up the defensive coach a little bit by not letting him know whose calling ‘em…Maybe we need to keep the opponents in the dark about whose calling plays, give us a little edge that way.”

Spurrier and the Gamecocks will play Arkansas at 7:00 Saturday night in Columbia.
