The Braves ran into a buzz saw named Tim Lincecum Thursday night in game one of its divisional series with the Giants. Lincecum allowed just two hits and struck out 14 in his complete game shutout. The Giants won 1-0.
The Giants lone run came on a two out RBI single by Cody Ross. The ball just barely slid under the glove of Braves third baseman Omar Infante.
Atlanta never really had a chance against Lincecum, who was dominant from start to finish. They never got a runner past second base the entire game.
The Braves will try to even the series tonight with Tommy Hanson on the mound. He’ll face Matt Cain. First pitch is 9:37.
Also tonight, the Phillies, who have yet to allow a hit this postseason, will face the Reds.
