Steve Spurrier held his weekly press conference to preview 19th ranked USC’s matchup against top ranked Alabama Saturday afternoon in Columbia. Saturday’s game kicks off at 3:30 at Williams-Brice Stadium. It will be televised by CBS. The Crimson Tide are a 6.5 point favorite.
Some fun facts about this weekend’s matchup:
- This is the 15th meeting between these two teams. Bama is 12-2 in the series, including 3-1 in Columbia.
- This is the fourth time USC has faced a team ranked number one in the country. The last time was November 14th of last year against Florida. USC is 0-3 all-time against top ranked teams.
- This is the fourth straight year USC has faced the defending BCS national champion at Williams-Brice Stadium. Florida was in town in 2007 and 2009 and LSU visited in 2008.
- Alabama has won 29 straight regular season games. The current streak started with the Crimson Tide’s blowout win over Clemson to start the 2008 season. The last time Bama lost in the regular season was November 24, 2007 against Auburn.
