LB BJ Goodson (6-1 210) of Lamar has committed to Clemson. Goodson chose the Tigers over Coastal Carolina, Tennessee, and LSU. He also garnered interest from USC, Alabama, and Auburn.
Goodson made his decision Sunday after he and his family made an unofficial visit Saturday for the Miami game. “I love it every time I get down there,” Goodson said. He contacted Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele with his commitment. “I just told him I was ready,” Goodson said. “I told him I thought it was time. He was very excited and very happy.”
As a junior, Goodson totaled 96 tackles, six for loss including two sacks. Thru six games this season he has 91 tackles with 5 sacks. Goodson becomes the 19th commitment for the Tigers 2011 class.
