For those of you wondering what exactly a blue hose is, the answer is a rugged Scottish man wielding a sword, shield, and blue stockings.
Presbyterian College has created a visual representation of their mascot to be adopted by the athletic department. There is no word as to whether a physical mascot will be roaming the sidelines in the near future. PC has been referred to as the “Blue Hose” since early in the 20th century, and made it their official sports nickname in 1954. The college has a Scottish heritage with leanings toward the Presbyterian denomination.
The athletic department primarily uses the block PC as their logo, and will use this new symbol on merchandising for fans and on a secondary role for the athletic teams.
