With just a few hours until kickoff there is still no word from the NCAA on any suspension for the USC players that are involved in the investigation into special rates at a downtown Columbia hotel. This doesn’t necessarily mean there won’t be any suspension tonight; there is still a chance they could be announced just prior to kickoff.
The Charleston Post and Courier has reported that up to five players could be suspended for tonight’s game. Defensive backs safety Akeem Auguste and C.C. Whitlock , offensive linemen Jarriel King and Terrence Campbell and defensive tackle Ladi Ajiboye have all been interviewed by NCAA investigators.
Steve Spurrier has told reporters he expects a couple of players to be suspended for a game or two by the NCAA. He has not said which players or which games.
