Former USC star wide receiver Sidney Rice is going to miss up to half of the upcoming season with the Minnesota Vikings as he recovers from hip surgery. The Gaffney product was injured during the Vikings loss to the Saints in the NFC championship game last season.
Rice had surgery on the hip Monday in Colorado.
Last season Rice flourished playing with Brett Farve, catching 83 passes for 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns. Those numbers earned Rice his first trip to the Pro Bowl.
