The deadline for unsigned drafted baseball players to sign with their teams is 11:59 PM Eastern Monday night. As of Sunday night, Clemson outfielder/quarterback Kyle Parker had not reached agreement with the Colorado Rockies. Rockies vice president of scouting Bill Schmidt told MLB.com Sunday there have been discussions but so far no agreement. Parker was Colorado’s first round pick. The Rockies have signed three of their top six picks thus far.
Other Tigers drafted but not yet signed are pitcher Casey Harman, third baseman John Hinson and outfielder Jeff Schaus. The Tigers also have a couple of drafted recruits who will go right up to the deadline.
USC fully expects pitcher Sam Dyson to sign with Toronto by the deadline. He was the Blue Jays 4th round pick. But unsiged drafted pitcher Steven Neff is expected to return to school.
And Coastal Carolina will be keeping an eye on third baseman Scott Woodward who also remains unsigned as the deadline approaches.
