USC’s offensive line depth took another hit today. Reserve Ryan Broadhead is going to miss the entire season because of a knee problem. Broadhead is a redshirt junior and has not played a snap his entire career.
Also, freshman Cody Gibson is going to miss a few weeks because of a sprained knee.
The Gamecocks have already lost Quinton Richardson (shoulder) for the season because and backup Nick Allison quit the team last month for personal reasons.
Obviously none of the players that have gone down with injury and or quit are huge losses. It is the lack of depth that could be a concern. Then again, as first year line coach Shawn Elliott put it, he just needs five to play, not 14. It never hurts to have options though. Especially on the line.
