Clemson sophomore Corbin Mills shot a one-over-par 289 score to finish tied for 12th at the Players Amateur Golf tournament at Belfair Golf Club in Bluffton, SC on Sunday. It was the second top 15 finish in a major amateur tournament this summer for Mills.
The native of Easley, SC had rounds of 72-70-74-73 on the par 72 course located nearly Hilton Head, SC. The tournament features nearly 80 of the top amateur golfers in the nation. Richy Werenski, a freshman at Georgia Tech, won the event with a 283 score.
Earlier this summer Mills finished 15th at the Monroe Invitational in Pittsford, NY. He was a starter on Clemson’s 16th ranked golf team this past year. He was named to the Ping All-District team and helped the Tigers to a second place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
