Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney took part in an ACC conference call today to discuss his final thoughts on the Tigers spring practice. Swinney remains very upbeat about the spring workouts and appears very optimistic heading into his second season in Tiger Town.
Dabo Swinney discusses spring drills
Among the items Swinney discussed was the NLF draft that begins tomorrow night. C.J. Spiller is expected to go in the first 10 t0 15 picks. Apparently that isn’t soon enough for Swinney. He said the St. Louis Rams should take Spiller with the first pick. Swinney wasn’t just saying it to be loyal to Spiller. You could tell he really believes C.J. is the best player in this draft.
Swinney also gave his stock answer on Kyle Paker’s status. He is still optimistic Parker will return for a second year as the team’s starting quarterback, but you can tell he’s a little nervous about the potential major pro baseball contract he will be offered this summer. Swinney knows Parker will be drafted early, he’s just hoping Parker will only leave if it is life changing money. He admitted things could be tough next year if Parker doesn’t return.
