Oliver Purnell is going to take three of his former assistants at Clemson with him to his new gig at DePaul. Purnell announced today that Ron Bradley, Kevin Nickleberry and Josh Postorino will be joining him in Chicago.
Bradley was the interim coach at Clemson for a week after Purnell took the Blue Demons job. He interviewed for the job that eventually went to Brad Brownell.
Nickelberry spent last season has the head coach of the Libya National team. Prior to that he was the head coach at Hampton and worked four seasons at Clemson with Purnell.
Postorino will be the director of basketball operations for Purnell. He has been at Clemson the past three years, in two of those he was an assistant coach.
In other coaching news, there was an interesting story on USC director of basketball operations Cypheus Bunton’s huge pay cut last week. He was demoted from assistant coach to basketball operations to make room for Orlando Early to join the staff. That move means Bunton can no longer recruit or coach players in practice and that he will have his pay cut from 125,00 dollars to 65,000 dollars annually.
Early will make 150,000 dollars next season.
