The 6th ranked Clemson baseball team opens a huge series at top ranked Virginia tonight in Charlottesville. The Tigers are 17-4 and 6-0 in the ACC. Virginia is 18-3 and 5-1 in the conference. Clemson dropped two non-conference home games against Elon earlier this week

This is a chance for Clemson to not only get back on track, but solidify themselves as a contender in the ACC and as a legitimate top five team. We know the Tigers are good, this weekend will give us evidence of just how good they are. Are they the team that took two of three against #14 USC and swept its first two ACC opponents or are they the team that has lost three non-conference games against unranked teams the past two weeks?
You know first baseman Kyle Parker will have a big stake in how things shake out this weekend. Parker has been on a tear this year. He’s hitting .405 with ten home runs and 23 RBI’s. He’s been scary good. Don’t forget he has been putting up these impressive numbers while splitting his time with spring practice with the football team. Also, there is that school thing that student athletes are required to take care of. Parker juggles all of these things and makes it look remarkably easy.
