According to a report, former Clemson quarterback Willy Korn is taking a visit to Marshall this weekend. Korn is still enrolled at Clemson and is scheduled to graduate in May. He will have two years of eligibility remaining and could play at a Football Bowl Subdivision school (known by us normal folks as Division-1) without sitting out if he graduates and enrolls in a graduate program that is not offered at Clemson.
Korn was a highly recruited prospect of Byrnes High School in Duncan but injuries and the unexpected emergence of Cullen Harper and then Kyle Parker kept his career from living up to the hype surrounding his arrival at Clemson.
Marhsall has a new coach this season. His name is Doc Holliday, that is easily the best name of any head coach in all of football and maybe all of sports. Holliday will likely have an open mind as he searches for a starting quarterback. Perhaps Korn will use this weekend’s visit to tell Holliday, “I’m your huckleberry.”
And for the two or three of you that’s didn’t get the above reference, you best go out and rent the movie Tombstone immediately. It is easily one of the best Westerns of the 1990’s and one of my all-time favorites.
