ESPN 1400 Radio in Spartanburg, SC, is announcing the addition of an FM Frequency Translator at 97.1 beginning today. After a weekend of field testing, WSPG’s FM translator officially became operational as of Monday, January 11th. This means all programming currently airing on the station’s licensed dial position of AM-1400 will now be simulcast, 24-hours a day on the FM dial.
“This is a major step forward for our radio station,” said Mark Hauser, President of Spartanburg Sports Media LLC and General Manager of ESPN 1400. “While our daytime coverage map remains essentially the same on AM or FM, our FM signal means immense improvement in coverage at night. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to super serve our listeners and sponsors in geographic areas where our AM signal is only available during the day. Therefore, programming that airs primarily in the evening such as Atlanta Braves Baseball, Wofford College Football and Basketball, SportsTalk with Phil Kornblut, NFL Sunday and Monday Night Football, the Super Bowl, the NCAA Basketball Tournament, South Carolina Gamecock Football and Basketball, etc, can be enjoyed by more listeners than ever.”
Listeners, sponsors and potential sponsors are welcome to call the radio station at 864-573-1400 with questions and comments.
