After suffering a stroke earlier this week, T.L. Hanna linebacker Jake Nicolopulos has been upgraded from critical to serious condition. Nicolopulos remains at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson. They want to transfer him to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston but bad weather conditions have prevented that from happening. Doctors still aren’t clear what caused Nicolopulos to suffer the stroke Wednesday morning at his house.
Nicolopulos has had a run of bad luck from a health standpoint. Just in the past year he has dealt with H1N1 flu and a kidney ailment. He also had a foot problem that kept him out of all or part of eight Hanna football games this season. He committted to Clemson over Cal, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
