#25 Clemson is getting ready to play 12th ranked Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship game Saturday in Tampa. Dabo Swinney and the Tigers have never played in the ACC title game and haven’t won the conference in 18 years.

Swinney of course had plenty to say. He mentioned that the team has moved past its loss against rival USC last Saturday. He said Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier told him after Saturday’s game that winning the ACC title was big and reminded Swinney that back in his Florida days he went on to win the SEC title after losses against Florida State. Swinney said Spurrier wished him luck against Georgia Tech.
And they call it a bitter rivalry? Please.
Swinney also said he “laughs” at people that are knocking the ACC Championship game because of the fact that both teams in the game are coming off losses to rival SEC teams. He made the anology that no one knocks a team that wins the Super Bowl because they lost in the regular season to the Packers. And furthermore no one questions a Super Bowl champion (like the Steelers a couple of seasons ago) if they come in as a Wild Card.
The Tigers and Yellow Jackets will kick off shortly after 8:00 Saturday night. The winner will take the conference crown and head to the BCS and play in the FedEx Orange Bowl on January 5th in Miami.
