Former Clemson outfielder Tyler Colvin will make his Major League debut tonight for the Chicago Cubs against the Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee.
Colvin batted .300 with 14 homers, 12 doubles, seven triples and 50 RBIs in 84 games this season for Double-A Tennessee, which reached the Southern League championship. The Smokies’ season ended Saturday night with a 7-3 loss to Jacksonville as the Suns took the best-of-five series.
Colvin was a senior for the Tigers in 2006 and led Clemson to the College World Series. He was a first round pick of the Cubs in June of 2006.
