It didn’t take long for former USC receiver Joe Hills to decide where he wants to continue his career. The Palmetto, FL native plans to transfer to South Florida, assuming he can get into schools. Hills quit USC Thursday after being moved the night before from receiver to safety, a move he and his family didn’t like.
“Coach Spurrier told me it was best that I play defensive back,” Hills told the Sarasota Herald-Journal. “I told him I didn’t think it was good a move and wanted to talk with my family,” Hills said. “My family didn’t like it and I decided on Thursday night to leave. Coach Spurrier didn’t tell me why he was doing this. He gave me an excuse, but it wasn’t one that I felt was legitimate.”
Hills said South Florida is the only school he’s interested in now and has asked his former high school coach to help him. South Florida offered him out of high school.
