Former USC basketball standout and current Cleveland Cavalier forward Tarence Kinsey was arrested and charged with DUI early Wednesday morning. The incident happened in Kinsey’s hometown of Tampa, Florida.
According to the police report, the incident happened around 3:00 Wednesday morning when Kinsey was clocked driving 70-mph in a 55-mph near I-275 in his 2005 Bentley. Policed pulled Kinsey over and say he smelled of alcohol, his eyes were bloodshot, and he was unsteady. He went on to fail a field sobriety test and declined a breathalyzer test.
He was released from jail on his own recognizance.
Kinsey joined the Cavaliers as a free agent last August and averaged 2.0 points in 50 games last season. He has a $995,000 non-guaranteed contract with the Cavs for the 2009-10 season.
