South Carolina women 76-Alabama 57 Game Summary

  • The Gamecocks won the first quarter 21-8, holding the Crimson Tide to 3-15 shooting and forcing five turnovers. And the Gamecocks won the fourth quarter 19-7, limiting Alabama to 2-12 shooting and forcing five turnovers.
  • Alabama won the two middle quarters by a combined six point.
  • The Gamecocks only led by seven going to the fourth quarter. They led by 10 with 7:02 to play then went on a 10-0 run to end all doubt with a 74-54 lead with 1:12 remaining.
  • USC forced 20 turnovers and converted those into 23 points. The Gamecocks also had 12 offensive rebounds they turned into 18 points. USC also won in the paint 44-20.
  • Two Gamecocks recorded double-doubles…Joyce Edwards with 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Madina Okot with 16 points and 16 rebounds.
  • The win was the 25th straight for the Gamecocks over the Crimson Tide.
  • The Gamecocks extended their current winning streak to seven games. They are 26-2 overall and 12-1 in the SEC. They will host Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon.
