STRecruiting Notebook 1-27: Gibson sets an official visit date with USC; Gamecocks offer son of one of their all-time greats; Two more announced visits to USC this weekend

Woodruff RB Aiden Gibson announced his second scheduled official visit on Monday. He has set a trip to South Carolina for June 5th. He ha previously announced an official visit to Penn State on June 12th.

South Carolina offered 2029 CB Captain Munnerlyn Jr. (6-1 185) of Mobile, AL. He’s the son of the former Gamecock star who spent his entire 10-year NFL career with the Panthers. The younger Captain also has offers from Tennessee, Florida, Texas A&M, Florida State, Syracuse, Georgia, Mississippi State, SMU, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Colorado, and others. In 13 games as a freshman last season, Munnerlyn had 63 tackles with five tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions and nine pass deflections.

TE Jake Sneed of Houston plans to visit South Carolina this weekend.

2028 DE Tyson Williams (6-5 230) of Shelby, NC plans to visit South Carolina this weekend.

2028 DE Christian Webb-Scott (6-6 240) of Westside visited South Carolina over the weekend. The Gamecocks were his first offer in June of 2024. He has offers from Virginia Tech, Missouri, Indiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oregon, Penn State, UCF, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Duke, SMU, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Southern Cal, Wake Forest and others. Last season he had 44 tackles with six tackles for loss and four sacks.

Byrnes WR Chanin Harris was offered by Wisconsin.

AC Flora DE Peyton Bishop plans to visit Georgia on Friday
