STRecruiting: South Carolina gets on the commitment board for 2027 with SAF Jernard Albright, a heavily recruited prospect out of Georgia who was an early offer by USC

Christmas Day delivered a recruiting gift for South Carolina football fans as SAF Jernard Albright (6-2 205) of Springfield, GA, announced his commitment to the Gamecocks. Albright actually committed to Gamecock head coach Shane Beamer earlier in the week as Beamer sent out a commitment alert to his faithful.

Albright chose the Gamecocks over other offers from Kansas, Missouri, Florida State, Nebraska, NC State, Michigan, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M.

South Carolina was the first major program to offer Albright on May 1st of this year. He followed up with a couple of game visits this season and developed his relationship with Beamer and secondary coach Torrian Gray.

Albright earned First Team All Region honors this season after totaling 50 tackles with two interceptions and three pass breakups.
