South Carolina will play its final game of the season at Colonial Life Arena when it squares off with 9-seed Indiana at 3 p.m., Sunday.
Indiana (20-12) earned its way into the second round with a 76-68 victory over 8-seed Utah in Columbia, Friday. The Gamecocks, in search of their third title in four years, unleashed on 16-seed Tennessee Tech, 108-48, in their first-round matchup.
Sunday’s game will be a rematch from last season’s Sweet Sixteen round when USC eliminated the Hoosiers 79-75. This year’s version of Indiana was ranked in the AP preseason poll before dropping two of its first three games. Head coach Teri Moren has guided the Hoosiers to 20 wins for ten straight seasons.
USC head coach Dawn Staley said, “Teri (Moren) always has her teams ready to rock and roll and compete for 40 minutes.”
The Gamecocks (31-3) enter the showdown with Indiana on an eight-game winning streak and have won 17 of 18 NCAA Tournament games dating back to 2022.
