#STRecruiting Weekend Notebook: 2026 QB target sets OV with USC; Beamer visits another QB target out west

QB Jared Curtis of Nashville has scheduled three official visits for June, and he has USC down for one of those visits according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. Curtis will visit the Gamecocks on June 20th. He is also down for official visits to Oregon June 6th and Georgia June 13th. He’s a former Georgia commitment.

On Friday, USC head coach Shane Beamer made an in-person visit with QB Brady Smigiel (6-4 205) of Newbury Park, CA. Smigiel has been committed to Florida State but has not shut down his recruiting. Smigiel has thrown for 11,222 yards and 147 touchdowns in his prep career. Head coaches from Florida State, UCLA and Washington have also been in to see Smigiel this week.

Clemson coaches met Friday with LB Tyler Atkinson of Loganville, GA.

Clemson OL coach Matt Luke visited OT Tyler Merrill of Mechanicsburg, PA on Friday.

Former Coastal Carolina RB Braydon Bennett is transferring to Virginia Tech.

USC offered DB Emerson Lewis (5-11 175) of Savannah.

USC offered SAF Enarri White (6-1 190) of Weldon, NC.

USC offered 2027 SAF Davion Jones (6-0 175) of Charlotte.

USC offered 2027 DE Marquis Evans (6-5 230) from Birmingham. That was his first offer.

USC offered 2027 DT Nate Kamba (6-3 270) of Charlotte.

USC offered 2027 CB Marquis Bryant (6-0 185) of Rolesville, NC

Clemson offered CB Blake Stewart (6-1 170) of Atlanta.

USC commitment LB Rodney Colton was offered by SMU and Florida State recently. Per Warchant.com, he is slated to visit Florida State this weekend. He has been committed to the Gamecocks since last April.

Clemson is in the top 10 with OT Chancellor Barclay (6-4 290) of Minneola, FL. The others on his list are Alabama, Penn State, Miami, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, West Virginia, Georgia and Texas A&M.

Clemson offensive line coach Matt Luke visited with OT Carter Scruggs of Leesburg, VA on Thursday. Scruggs also plans what he posted as a “big announcement” on January 26th.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney Friday visited DE Cam Brooks of Thomasville, GA at the same time Georgia coach Kirby Smart was in for a visit.
