If you’ve read H.G. Bissinger’s book, seen the movie, or were a fan of the TV series “Friday Night Lights,” you know plenty about Odessa Permian High School in Texas. Clemson offensive lineman Harris Sewell didn’t need to see the Panthers on the big screen; he was a member of the cast.
Sewell was an All-District selection and four-year starter on the offensive line, helping Permian to a 32-14 record during his time in West Texas. Now, as a sophomore at Clemson, he’s hoping to bring some of Permian’s famous “mojo” to the Tigers’ offensive line.
A year ago, Sewell was thrust into the starting lineup during the final month of the season, and the Tigers were a perfect 5-0 with him on the line.
Monday, the Permian product met with the media to discuss preseason camp, the challenges of cross-training on the offensive line, and how the competition for the starting center position is going.
