Clemson closed out its 2023 home schedule in style, Saturday, with a decisive 31-20 victory over North Carolina on Senior Day. The Tigers’ defense forced three turnovers and Will Shipley returned to form with 126 yards rushing. Clemson’s offense was unspectacular early, but relentless.

The Tigers ran 52 plays in the first half and 89 overall, eventually wearing the Tar Heels down. As UNC’s defenders gasped for air in the third and fourth quarters, Shipley looked to be getting stronger, feeding on the energy from the Death Valley crowd on his way to 179 yards from scrimmage.

Clemson is now riding a three-game winning streak heading into next week’s rivalry game at South Carolina. Kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Head coach Dabo Swinney addressed the media following the victory.

Following their seventh win of the season, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, quarterback Cade Klubnik, running back Will Shipley and cornerback Nate Wiggins were among those who met with the media.
