Clemson linebacker Barrett Carter says last year’s 35-14 loss at Notre Dame is a sticking point for him as the Tigers prepare for the rematch on Saturday. It was also a tipping point for the program, as it appears the defeat has had a lingering effect. Since that matchup on November 5th, the Tigers have gone just 7-6, including back-to-back losses to Miami and NC State in their past two outings.
Earlier this week, Carter stressed that his team is hoping to avoid a similar outcome at home.
“Yeah, definitely is a sticking point (the loss to ND). They physically dominated us,” Carter confessed to the media. “We have to watch that tape and figure out what we did wrong and make sure that we don’t make those same mistakes this Saturday. They are really a complete team across the board. When you’re playing a physical, downhill team such as Notre Dame, you have to bring your big boy pads.”
