USC wide receiver Nyck Harbor has been blessed with tremendous speed. The two-sport standout is an aspiring Olympic athlete on the track, having posted a 10.22-second 100-meter dash in high school, the third-fastest reported time of any prep runners competing in 2023. On the football field, Harbor has flashed a little bit of his skills, most recently in a play against Florida. The Washington, D.C., native utilized his speed and 6’5-inch frame to shield off a defender and pull in a 45-yard reception against the Gators. However, as the season has worn along, the freshman says he’s seeing the game in a different light.
“Florida was probably the cleanest game I’ve had all year. It was the most snaps I played, too,” Harbor explained to the media on Tuesday. “Everything is just starting to slow down.”
For the year, Harbor has two catches for 52 yards, including a 7-yard TD reception from fellow freshman Lenoris Sellars in Carolina’s 47-21 win over Furman back in September.
This Saturday, Harbor hopes to get more opportunities against Missouri as the Gamecocks begin a two-game road trip. Saturday’s contest is set to kick off at 3:30pm on the SEC Network.
