Clemson turned to the running game in the second half of Saturday’s win over Wake Forest and the Tigers produced enough to squeeze out a five-point win in a game they were favored to win by 22 points. The Tigers rushed for 167 yards in the second half and finished with just 338 total yards. Clemson is 35th nationally in total offense this week but 127th in fumbles lost and 119th in red zone scoring.
First year offensive coordinator Garrett Riley has not been able to fix the problems that emerged in the season opening loss at Duke, but he feels this off week will give them the chance to focus on those issues and get some people healthy. He met with the media Monday at Clemson.
