Shane Beamer did not sound defeated during his Sunday night conference call with the media despite his team’s loss to North Carolina Saturday night. The Gamecocks were 2.5-point underdogs going in, and with the mistakes they made, they were fortunate to lose by only two touchdowns.
Beamer pointed out his team had chances in the second half to win the game and didn’t get it done. Poor execution and injuries played a big part in the loss. His injury update included the following:
Emmanwori is questionable, Wells is questionable, Henry is out for a while, Kaba is out for a while, out of respect for Kaba, he’ll comment on him more later in the week (usually means not good news for a player), Markee Anderson had a setback during the week and did not travel and is questionable and Ahmarean Brown is probable.
The Gamecocks will host Furman Saturday night.
