Palmetto Pigskin Tour visits the Wofford Terriers (AUDIO)

With the season on the horizon, the Palmetto Pigskin Tour is in its final week. Stop #13 was made Monday night at Wofford. The tour will conclude Thursday with a visit to Anderson University.

Wofford is in restart mode after last season’s mid-season departure of head coach Josh Conklin. Veteran coach Shawn Watson took over and all of a sudden, the offense sprang to life. The Terriers opened the season with six straight losses and finished with three wins in their final five games.

Wofford officials were so impressed with the job done by Watson, he was named the fulltime coach. The Terriers will run a pro-spread offense with senior Bryce Corriston coming out of camp as the starting quarterback. Senior defensive end Chuck Smith is back as a leader on that side of the ball.

The Terriers will open the season this Saturday at Pittsburgh. They will then travel to William and Mary which is ranked 4th in the FCS. The home opener will be against Presbyterian on September 16th.
