Jamey Chadwell’s successful run at Coastal Carolina ended after last season as he moved on to Liberty. The baton was passed to Tim Beck, a veteran offensive coach specializing in quarterbacks, who is now a head coach for the first time.
Beck caught a major break when quarterback Grayson McCall decided to return for another season. That gave him a head start in implementing his offense with one of the nation’s top signal-callers at the helm. There’s also plenty of talent at running back and receiver. The defense expects to be strong as well with linebacker JT Killen and safety Matthew McDoom leading the way.
The Chants will face a major test in their opening game as they will play at UCLA in the Rose Bowl a week from Saturday night.
