After a run through the Upstate, the Palmetto Pigskin tour headed east Wednesday with a stop at Charleston Southern University. The Buccaneers are under the leadership of first year coach Gabe Giardina, a former Bucs assistant under Jamey Chadwell who spent the last five-plus seasons at Albany State where he was 37-17 including 26-5 in the SIAC.
Giardina is pledging to make the Bucs more physical on both sides of the ball, and he’s implementing some of the same offensive principles deployed by Chadwell during his time with the Bucs. He inherits a team that went 2-8 overall and 2-3 in the Big South last season.
The Bucs are seeking their first winning season since 2017 and will open at home on August 31st against North Greenville.
