Pitt finished the 2022 season with a five-game winning streak including a two-point victory over UCLA in the Sun Bowl. Seven starters return on offense, but a new quarterback is in town in Boston College transfer Phil Jurkovec. He’s had 24 career starts and passed for over 1700 yards last season. Adding to the quarterback room will be Penn State transfer Christian Veilleux.

The Panthers lost their top rusher and receiver from last season, but Rodney Hammond rushed for over 400 yards last season and Konata Mumpfield was second on the team with 58 catches.

Narduzzi has always produced one of the better defenses in the ACC. Last season they allowed just 24 points per game and only 98 yards per game on the ground. The Panthers have not allowed an average of 100 yards or more rushing per game since the 2019 season.
