College football recruiting goes back live this week before another dead period begins Sunday night. USC and Clemson will hold recruiting events this weekend with commitments and targets coming in for one final visit before the start of pre-season camp. Also, this Sunday, the next USC target is set to announce his commitment decision.
CB Zy’marion Lang of Sarasota is down to USC, Pitt, USF and Kansas State. He plans to announce around noon during a ceremony at the center where he played youth football. Sunday night Lang said he had not yet made his decision and all four are still in it. He took official visits to Pitt and West Virginia in June. He visited USC unofficially in March and June and is going to Kansas State unofficially this Wednesday. Lang said he last talked to USC coach Shane Beamer and secondary coach Torian Gray about two weeks ago. “They’ve been there since day one and they are in a good spot,” Lang said. As for what he’s looking for in his choice, Lang said, “Being comfortable really. Being a family.”

The coach for DE Dylan Stewart of Washington, DC confirmed Stewart will attend the USC recruiting function this weekend. Mike Hunter said Stewart has not given him an indication on when he’ll make a decision and remains torn among his five schools…USC, Ohio State, Miami, Georgia and Maryland.
USC is n the top 8 with DE KingJoseph Edwards. The others are Alabama, Tennessee, Florida State, Texas, Georgia, TCU and Oklahoma.
DT D’Nas White, a USC target, plans to name a top five on August 10th. He took official visits to USC and Virginia Tech. He also made an unofficial visit to USC in May.
USC commitment punter Mason Love earned an invite to the UA All-American Game with his performance at the Kohls National Scholarship Camp over the weekend.
PK Kieran Corr of Winchester, MA, who is ranked among the top kickers in the country by Kohls Kicking, and who drew interest from USC, committed to Harvard.
RB Dashun Reeder of Christ Church was offered by Toledo. He has been committed to Northwestern.
Georgia RHP Michael Polk (6-3 215) announced a transfer commitment to USC Saturday. He redshirted the 2023 season due to an injury. Polk made 39 appearances with the Bulldogs and was 2-3 with a 5.55 ERA. He had 62 strikeouts and 42 walks in 48.2 innings. He’s a native of Milton, GA and will have at least two seasons of eligibility with the Gamecocks if he chooses to use his Covid waiver. Polk is the 11th transfer taken this off season by Gamecock coach Mark Kingston. A 12th, RHP Matt Duffy, signed with the Red Sox. Half of the transfers are pitchers.
The Gamecocks also landed a commitment Saturday from 2023 LHP Jake McCoy (6-1 185) of Catawba Ridge. He was originally committed to Wofford.

Coastal Carolina LHP Levi Huesman announced a transfer commitment to Vanderbilt. As a freshman this season, Huesman was 1-4 with a 9.36 ERA. He made 8 starts in 18 appearances.
