Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin wasn’t overly concerned about how he looked in front of the cameras at SEC Media Day Thursday morning. Wearing a sport coat without a tie, as a number of coaches did to honor the late Mike Leach, with his hair somewhat disheveled, and with a demeanor of someone who had just stepped off Broadway after an all-nighter, Kiffin still captivated his audience primarily with his opinions on NIL and the problems he sees with the current process.
As for his team, Kiffin has 16 starters returning from an 8-5 squad that started 7-0 and finished 1-5 including a loss to Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl. Kiffin’s teams can always score. He’s still looking to improve the defense and in the off season he hired Pete Golding from Alabama as his new DC.
