Some folks laughed at Brian Kelly last spring and summer as he made the public transition from the buttoned-up coach at Notre Dame to the more free-flowing coach at LSU. They are not laughing any more.
Kelly flexed his coaching muscles in his first season at Baton Rouge, winning the SEC West and blowing out Purdue in the Citrus Bowl. He won at Auburn and Florida and beat Alabama at home. The Tigers finished 10-4 overall and 6-2 in the SEC.
