


Wednesday marks the beginning of a four day stretch in which four prospects recruited by Clemson or USC will be announcing their college commitments. First up Wednesday will be OT Casey Poe of Lindale, TX who has Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, LSU and Georgia as his finalists. Thursday WR Keylen Adams of Virginia Beach will announce for either USC or Virginia Tech. Friday RB Braylen Russell of Benton, AR will reveal his choice of USC, Tennessee or Arkansas. And Saturday cornerback Ashton Hampton will make his choice known from his final list of Clemson, Florida State, Arkansas, LSU, Florida and Miami.

SS Jacob Hinderleider is transferring from Davidson to Clemson as a grad student. He’s a native of Hawaii. This season he batted .282 with 7 homers and 43 RBIs. He committed 16 errors. For his career he’s a 273 hitter with 25 homers and 15 stolen bases. He has a career fielding percentage of .929.
OF Alden Mathis is transferring to Clemson from Richmond. Last December he announced he would transfer to Georgia after this season, but a few weeks ago posted his change in plans on Instagram. This season he batted .296 with 9 homers and 41 RBIs. He has a .319 career batting average with 21 homers. He’s a lefthanded hitter and is also a lefthanded pitcher.
USC stands to lose three of their committed/signed 2023 recruits after they were chosen in the MLB Draft this week. Transfer RHP Matt Duffy was drafted in the fourth round by the Red Sox, OF/2B George Wolkow was taken in the seventh round by the White Sox and SS Raudi Rodriguez was the 19th round choice of the Yankees.
Clemson will lose both of their signees who were drafted as they both went in the first 50 picks. OF Dillon Head was the first round pick of the Padres and SS Sammy Stafura was the second round pick of the Reds.
