RB Braylen Russell (6-1 225) of Benton, AR took the last of his four official visits last weekend to Tennessee. That trip followed earlier ones in June to USC, Baylor and Arkansas.
Russell and Daniel Hill of Mississippi are the two backs Shane Beamer and running backs coach Montario Hardesty are going after to pair with the committed Matthew Fuller as their two running backs in the class. Russell said he was in touch with the USC coaches on Monday.
“They are still in the mix,” Russell said. “They have like no running backs, and they have no big backs either. That’s really their message.”
Russell said he enjoyed his visit to Tennessee last weekend and couldn’t really identify one visit as better than another.
“I liked all of them,” he said. “All of them were nice.”
So now the process for making a decision has started for Russell and he’s looking for that school that checks all the boxes.
“A family feeling that I feel from like a certain one,” Russell said. “Somewhere where I can go and play, and have a home away from home.”
Russell plans to announce his choice on July 14th via 247Sports at 7:30 PM Eastern Time.
Last season Russell rushed for 1892 yards and 27 touchdowns
