USC football coach Shane Beamer’s original plans were for his Father’s Day Weekend to be free from official visits. The Gamecocks had a total of 17 official visits over the first two weekends of the month. But as it turns out, Beamer and his staff are having a top prospect on campus for a weekend stay.
GamecockCentral reported that OT/DT Liam Andrews (6-5 260) of Brookline, MA was in Columbia for the visit. Andrews later confirmed his location with an Instagram post from a downtown Columbia restaurant with some USC coaches.
Andrews, who is being recruited as a defensive tackle by USC, originally was scheduled to visit next weekend. He has taken other official visits this month to Penn State and Wisconsin. He also made an unofficial visit with the Gamecocks in March.
In his recently released top eight Andrews included the Gamecocks along with Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, Ohio State, LSU, Wisconsin and Penn State.
