USC will close out the regular season with four home games this week starting tonight against Charlotte. The Gamecocks are 37-14 meaning they have a shot at the coveted 40-win mark, something they last accomplished in 2016. They have already won 10 more games this season than last season, and they are #3 in the RPI this week.
But the Gamecocks are wobbling down the stretch of the regular season with eight losses in their last eleven games. They have dropped their last three SEC series and are 15-11 in the league, fifth best overall. As of today, the Gamecocks would have to play next Tuesday in the play-in round of the SEC Tournament to make the full field.
