6-1 Joe Girard has spent his college career playing for the Orange. He will complete his career playing in orange. Girard announced on Twitter late Sunday morning he will transfer to Clemson. He chose the Tigers over LSU.

Girard was a four-year standout for Jim Boeheim at Syracuse. He started 123 out of 125 games he played in with the Orange. For his career, he averaged 13 points and 4 assists per game. He’s a career 38% shooter from the floor, 36% from three, and 86% from the foul line.

Last season was his best at Syracuse. Gerard averaged 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists per game. He shot 40% from the floor, 38% from three and 86% from the line. He had 11 points in a loss to Clemson.

Girard is the fourth transfer taken by Brad Brownell for the 2023 class. The others are 6-8 Jack Clark of NC State, 6-5 Jake Heidbreder of Air Force and 6-10 Bas Leyte of UNCG. 6-7 Asa Thomas of Lake Forest, IL rounds out the class. The Tigers now have 13 spots filled for their 2023-24 roster.
