Clemson defensive back Malcolm Greene announced via social media on Thursday that he has entered the transfer portal.
Over three seasons, Greene totaled 40 tackles (4.5 for loss), four pass breakups, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. He played in 29 games for the Tigers with five starts from 2020-22.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound cornerback has already graduated from Clemson and will be immediately eligible to play at another school. He is the second Tiger to enter the NCAA’s transfer portal in 2023, joining defensive lineman Etinosa Reuben, who is enrolled at Georgia Tech. Clemson did not have a player enter the transfer portal during the 2022 spring window, which Dabo Swinney said made Clemson one of just four Power 5 programs to earn that distinction.
Clemson is now at 87 scholarships projected for the 2023 season with Greene’s departure, two over the NCAA limit.
